Are you a good listener who is interested in helping people in
crisis? HopeLine is always looking for additional volunteers to
add to our team! HopeLine volunteers provide confidential listening
services, crisis and suicide intervention, and information referrals

What are the requirements for volunteering?
Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. You do not need a
background in psychology, social work, counseling, or other related

month of service on the lines (3 shifts) for a minimum of 9 months

At HopeLine, we do our best to prepare you for answering crisis
calls. We provide extensive training, including over 40 hours of

focuses on active listening and crisis intervention while addressing
topics that may come up in calls, such as depression, family violence,
death and dying, interpersonal relationships, mental illness, and
suicide.
